East Ayrshire Council has confirmed that The Robert Burns Academy and SLC, Hillside School, Lochnorris Primary and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC will reopen on Monday 12 January.
Pipers Café will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
Multi-service meetings have taken place every day this week, with engineers and contractors on site since Sunday 4 January working through issues arising from the incident. This activity will continue over the weekend to ensure any further problems are dealt with as quickly as possible.
When pupils return on Monday, there will be some minor changes to usual arrangements, including the relocation of certain classes within The Robert Burns Academy and SLC, and adjustments to the food service. Catering Services are on Campus today preparing for reopening, and school meal information will be issued via ParentPay.
The Council thanks parents and carers for their support and understanding throughout the week.
On Sunday 4 January, East Ayrshire Council was made aware of significant flooding at Barony Campus. At 6pm that day, after considering its duty of care to all children and young people, the difficult decision was taken to close the entire Campus on Monday 5 January.
Following further site visits on Monday 5 January, it became clear that The Robert Burns Academy and SLC would need to remain closed until Monday 12 January.
The Council had hoped that Hillside School, Lochnorris Primary and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC could reopen towards the end of the week; however, ongoing instability with the heating systems meant this was not possible. On Wednesday 7 January, parents and carers were informed that the whole Campus would remain closed until Monday 12 January.
The Council recognises the impact this closure has had on pupils and families. Due to the extended closure, parents and carers of pupils who receive a free school meal due to low income received a payment of £12.50 (£2.50 per day for five days).
