A revised date has been confirmed for the planning application site visit (25/00826/FUL) for Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Plc's Fanellan Substation proposal, comprising a 400kV substation, a converter station and associated infrastructure, including site access, landscaping and demolition works, at land 300m north-west of Fanellan Farmhouse, Kiltarlity.
The application was examined at a Pre-Determination Hearing of the Council’s South Planning Applications Committee on 18 December 2025, where members agreed to defer a decision pending a site inspection that had originally been scheduled for 8 January.
Due to current and forecast weather conditions, and to ensure the health and safety of all participants, the site visit has been rearranged for Monday 19 January 2026.
The application is expected to be determined at the scheduled meeting of the South Planning Applications Committee on 5 February 2026.
