BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will replace rockfall mesh netting on the A83 at Strone Point, around 2 km northeast of Inveraray, with works beginning on Monday 15 December.
Crews will operate between 7:30am and 5:30pm each day, with completion expected by Friday 19 December. For safety, a single-lane closure will be managed by two-way temporary traffic lights, alongside a temporary 30mph speed limit for the duration. Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout the works.
Key stakeholders have been consulted in advance to outline the traffic management measures and reduce disruption as far as possible.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland's North West Representative said: "These rockfall mesh netting replacement works on the A83 at Strone Point will address defects within the existing netting system and is vital in improving the long term resilience of the route, improving the quality and safety for road users.
"Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements."
