ETZ Awards £100,000 For Torry And Cove Projects

ETZ Ltd's Community & Coast Fund has entered its second year, awarding grants to 15 organisations in Torry and Cove.

With £100,000 distributed in this round, the fund has now supported 31 community projects over two years, with total investment approaching £200,000.

Run in partnership with Aberdeen's Third Sector Interface, ACVO TSI, the fund backs community-led initiatives that respond to local priorities, including youth support, wellness and skills development, heritage preservation, sustainability and biodiversity improvements.

Applications opened in late September 2025, with local groups invited to seek up to £10,000 per project. This year's applicants were encouraged to focus on four priority themes identified with stakeholders and Year 1 recipients: community safety, community engagement, social isolation and mental health.

Projects set to benefit include Charleston Primary Parent Council, which will create a sensory room for children with additional needs; Cove Woodland Trust, which will extend the woodland path network to improve access; Torry Men's Shed, which will enhance its space where men can meet and learn new skills; and Cove and Altens Community Council, which will deliver the Tree of Hope project in partnership with local groups. Big Noise Torry will also receive support for its free, long-term music education programme for children and young people.

Carole Monnier, Community Lead at ETZ Ltd, said: "We're delighted to continue supporting projects that make a real difference for people in Torry and Cove, and empower groups to turn great ideas into action."

ACVO Development Officer Sarah Irvine supported groups in Torry and Cove throughout the application process, helping to shape proposals. She said: "It's been fantastic to work with so many local organisations as they bring their projects to life. There's a great mix of initiatives this year, and I'm excited to see the positive impact they will have across Torry and Cove."

At a time when funding is highly competitive and many organisations across Aberdeen and Scotland face financial pressures, these awards represent a vital source of support. Maggie Hepburn, Chief Executive of ACVO TSI, said: "Securing funding is often a challenge for community groups, so we're pleased to support the delivery of this initiative for a second year. ACVO has a strong track record of working with organisations across Aberdeen, and we see the difference well-resourced projects can make.

"ACVO TSI will be actively engaging with recipients of the fund to showcase their success as the projects get underway in 2026, and we look forward to sharing these stories next year."
