The latest phase of the Pennywell Regeneration project in Edinburgh, known as Pennywell Phase 3/Block 3, has successfully been granted planning permission.
This milestone marks the completion of the comprehensive masterplan for the wider Pennywell and Muirhouse area, a project that has spanned over a decade.
CCG (Scotland) is set to deliver the development on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council, continuing their successful partnership with the local authority. The final stage will comprise 90 highly energy-efficient homes alongside two commercial premises.
Proposals for the final block were created and submitted by architects Stallan-Brand. They described the development as taking cognisance of the new identity established in the earlier phases of the masterplan.
The proposals are designed to build upon previous efforts by creating a welcoming and secure environment that supports passive surveillance, a sense of personal ownership, and opportunities for social interaction.
The project serves as the culmination of the regeneration efforts, maintaining a strong focus on inclusivity, safety, and connectivity within the community.
