Aberdeenshire Council has set a pre-determination hearing for the proposed development of new electricity infrastructure near Stonehaven for Wednesday, 26 November
The application (APP/2024/1714) involves the construction and operation of a 400 kV air insulated substation and associated works at Fetteresso Forest.
The proposed plans include the formation of essential earthworks, access routes, drainage systems, landscaping, and security measures. It also covers the creation of temporary compounds and storage areas needed during the construction phase.
The pre-determination hearing serves as a formal process that allows the applicant, consultees, and individuals who have already submitted valid representations and requested to speak, to convey their views directly to Councillors before any decision is made. It is important to note that this is not a public consultation event.
While no decision on the application will be made at the hearing itself, all points raised will be formally minuted and presented for discussion at the Kincardine & Mearns Area Committee. The final decision on the application will then be made at a subsequent meeting of the Infrastructure Services Committee.
The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 am and will be held at Viewmount, Arduthie Road, Stonehaven, and also via MS Teams. Public viewing is available both in-person (with limited seating) or via a live stream link on the Council's website.
