A new, purpose-built care home, Glencorse Care Home, has been officially completed at Greenlaw Mains, Penicuik, marking a significant addition to local care provision in Midlothian.
The facility was delivered through a successful partnership between Morrison Community Care Group and CCG (Scotland).
Completed in October, the care home has since been sold to a national operator and is set to support up to 54 residents with 24/7 residential, nursing, and dementia care services. The facility is also expected to create up to 100 local jobs.
The design focuses on promoting independence and dignity in a welcoming environment, combining first-class clinical support with extensive amenities:
Accommodation: Each resident has their own en-suite bedroom.
Amenities: Integrated facilities include a cinema room, hair salon, champagne bar, private family spaces, dining rooms, a visitor's café, and landscaped gardens.
David Wylie, Managing Director of CCG (Scotland), highlighted the efficiency of the partnership: "Glencorse represents the continuation of a hugely successful partnership with Morrison Community Care. Our combined expertise has helped deliver over 400 beds across seven truly state-of-the-art facilities to date..."
Paul Sokhi, Managing Director of Morrison Community Care, emphasised the resident-first approach: "For Morrison Community Care, the priority is always the resident – creating home-like spaces that enhance comfort, safety, and quality of life. This facility will help address the growing demand for care in Penicuik and surrounding areas."
