Marine Avenue Resurfacing Works To Commence Next Week

Essential construction work involving the resurfacing of Marine Avenue is scheduled to start on Monday, 3 November 2025, with the project anticipated to take five working days to complete.

The works will significantly improve the quality and safety of the road surface but will necessitate a temporary road closure during working hours.

The closure will be in place between 9am and 3pm each day to allow Tayside Contracts roads staff to carry out the critical construction and paving process.

Due to the nature of the work, vehicle access for properties and businesses along Marine Avenue will be extremely limited during the working hours. Any residents or business owners requiring access or exit during the closure times are instructed to seek assistance directly from the Tayside Contracts staff managing the site.

A recommended diversion route has been put in place for motorists. The advised route is: Eastern Road – Panmure Place – Ferry Street – Caledonia Street – Provost Reid’s Road, and the reverse for traffic heading in the opposite direction.

Construction safety barriers will be erected on site, and while vehicular traffic will be prohibited during the work hours, pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period.

The Council confirmed that kerbside bin collections will not be affected by the resurfacing works. For any residents or businesses requiring further assistance, particularly concerning access or mobility during the construction, they should contact the Council’s Contact Centre on 03452 777 778.
