Knight Property Group Appoints New Director

Knight Property Group has appointed James Barrack Jnr as Director, strengthening its leadership team and reinforcing the company's commitment to continued growth across Scotland and the wider UK.

The appointment marks a key step for the family-founded contractor and developer, as James Jnr — son of co-founder and chairman James Barrack and grandson of co-founder Hamish Barrack — joins the board to help steer the business into its next phase of expansion.

A honours graduate in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University, James brings with him valuable industry experience gained at JLL and specialist consultancy Alternative Real Estate Advisors (AREA). His work has centred on the operational and analytical aspects of commercial property, including asset portfolio analysis and strategic development across the UK.

Based at Knight's Edinburgh office, James will lead business development within the company's established Scottish market while supporting its expansion into new regional markets. Reporting directly to Managing Director Howard Crawshaw, he will work closely with the existing leadership team to identify opportunities for sustainable development and future acquisitions.

Managing Director, Howard Crawshaw, said: "We are delighted to welcome James Jnr to the board. His proven expertise, entrepreneurial mindset and strong track record in the property sector will be invaluable as we accelerate our growth and take Knight Property Group into its next era. This appointment also marks a proud milestone, with a third generation of the Barrack family stepping into a leadership role, carrying forward the trusted personable vision to the business that both Hamish and James Snr have championed before him."

James Jnr added: "I am excited to be joining Knight Property Group at such a pivotal stage in its journey. Building on the strong foundations established by my grandfather, father and the wider Knight team, I look forward to bringing my experience to drive our expansion beyond Scotland and help deliver our long-term vision for growth, diversification and sustainability."
