Construction has officially begun on a new £14 million care home on Dalhousie Road in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, following a sod-cutting ceremony.
The facility is being developed by Meallmore and built by CHAP Group.
The three-storey, 54-bed home will offer specialist care for older people, including those living with dementia and other age-related conditions. The project is expected to be completed in early 2027 and will generate up to 70 full-time equivalent jobs in the local area.
Designed to blend with its surroundings, the new care home will offer premium amenities, including a cinema, a café, a private dining room, and a beauty salon. Residents will also benefit from private gardens and outdoor terraces, ensuring a high-quality living environment.
Paul Matthew, CHAP Group's Dundee Construction Director, said the firm is "thrilled to be working with Meallmore to deliver this new care home, which will provide first-class facilities for residents".
