McTaggart Construction has announced the successful completion and handover of the first 57 mid-market rent homes at the Royston Road development in Glasgow.
This milestone marks significant progress in the 136-home project being delivered in partnership with Swan Group.
The first residents have already moved into their new properties, which are managed by Touchstone for Thriving Investments. The remaining phases of the development are continuing on schedule, with all 136 homes expected to be fully completed by the end of this year.
Janice Russell, Managing Director at McTaggart Construction, expressed her pride in the achievement: "The handover of these first 57 homes represents not just the delivery of high-quality, affordable homes, but the creation of a community where families will build their futures."
The quality and attention to detail of the new properties have been praised by the first occupants. New resident Lisa Brown commented on the positive experience, stating, "The build quality is exceptional. Every detail has been finished to perfection, and you can see the time and effort that went into it."
Phil McGinlay, Director at Swan Group, highlighted the project's wider significance: "This handover represents a significant step in Swan Group’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient, affordable homes across Scotland."
Jennifer Low from Thriving Investments noted the strong demand, saying that homes are "being reserved and occupied straight away, which shows just how well the development is meeting local demand" for affordable mid-market rent housing.
