Cairn Housing Association has officially broken ground on a new housing development in Lambhill, Glasgow, which will deliver 29 modern, energy-efficient homes.

The scheme, located next to Cairn's existing homes in the area, will provide 21 mid-market rental properties and eight for social rent. A mix of two- and three-bedroom terraced houses will help address local housing demand.

Each property will feature air source heat pumps, offering tenants sustainable heating solutions designed to reduce energy bills and cut carbon emissions.

The development is being delivered by O'Brien Properties, with Brownriggs acting as Employer’s Agent and Ross Quality Control as Clerk of Works. Funding has been provided by Glasgow City Council.

As part of the project, O'Brien Properties has donated £5,000 to Lambhill Stables, a community-led organisation that has supported learning, connection and wellbeing in north Glasgow since 2007.

A sod-cutting ceremony marked the official start of work, attended by Cairn staff and project partners. The homes are scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
