NHBC, the UK's leading new home warranty and insurance provider, has launched its largest-ever trainee recruitment drive.
The organisation is hiring for up to 30 new roles across various fields, including building inspection, surveying, technical consulting, and quality analysis, as part of its mission to address the house-building skills crisis.
The new nationwide vacancies are designed to encourage greater diversity in the industry, welcoming applicants from all career backgrounds and ages who are passionate about construction quality and safety. The move aligns with the government's pledge to build 1.5 million homes during this parliament.
The new roles are part of NHBC's commitment to training and development, which includes a £100 million investment in a national network of 12 training hubs to support up to 3,000 apprenticeships a year.
The available positions include:
• 15 trainee building inspectors
• 4 trainee technical building consultants
• 4 trainee construction quality analysts
• Up to 6 new trainee building surveyors, who will embark on a fully funded four-year degree apprenticeship programme with the University of Wolverhampton.
Paul Turner, CEO of NHBC, stated that the company's main priority is to "contribute to getting more great-quality homes built quickly, safely and skilfully." He added that this recruitment drive is a direct action to help tackle the challenges faced by the industry.
Josh Golding, Training Manager at NHBC, highlighted that the roles offer a "perfect entry to the construction industry" for those starting their careers or looking for a change. He noted that the focus on mentoring and professional development allows trainees to achieve recognised qualifications and build long-term careers.
