South Ayrshire Council, in collaboration with the Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA), Atkins Realis, and the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Partnership, is hosting an event to discuss coastal change and green health in Ballantrae.
The Ballantrae Coastal Adaptation Project and Green Health Event will take place on Thursday, 11 September 2025, at Ballantrae Community Hall from 2.30pm to 7.30pm.
The project aims to work with the community to create a sustainable plan for the coast, identifying the potential impacts of future sea level rise and climate change and how to manage them effectively.
Both locals and visitors are encouraged to attend the drop-in workshop to view the project's outputs and discuss future coastal adaptation planning. The event is described as an opportunity to learn more about how rising sea levels will affect the west coast of Scotland in the coming decades, with activities available for all ages.
