Residents of East Dunbartonshire are being encouraged to participate in the latest consultation for the area's new Local Development Plan (LDP3).
The "Call for Ideas and Sites Consultation" is taking place until Monday, 15 September 2025. When approved, LDP3 will provide a long-term vision for local development, addressing issues such as climate change, regeneration, and the protection of the environment.
The consultation includes two surveys: "Call for Ideas" and "Call for Sites." The "Call for Ideas" allows individuals and groups to submit suggestions and policies for future land use, covering topics like housing, employment, and green spaces. The "Call for Sites" provides an opportunity for developers, landowners, and the public to put forward specific locations they would like to be considered for future development.
Councillor Gordan Low, Leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said that all submissions will be assessed to help form a "Proposed Plan," which will then be subject to further public consultation. The consultation's main goal is to collect ideas and suggested sites, not to seek support or objections at this stage.
