JR Scaffold Services, one of Scotland's largest scaffolding providers, has completed a project on behalf of client Eycon Ltd at a building above a high street store on Glasgow's Buchanan Street.
The specialist team installed around 800 square metres of scaffolding to allow for refurbishments and repairs to the upper building on one of the city's busiest shopping destinations.
The city centre location meant that safety was a key consideration, both for the public and the workers. John Jack, Contracts Director at JR Scaffold, said that city centre jobs are "always tricky," but the team was "delighted to deliver this job safely and on time". The extensive installation, which included staircases, edge protection, and fan protection, took a team of four expert scaffolders around two weeks to complete.
As part of the project, excessive beam work was carried out at the rear of the building to bridge over skylights and vents on the lower roof, and a hoist was fitted to assist with the building works. This year, The JR Group, which was founded in Govan as a scaffolding business in 1995, is celebrating its 30th year in business and has grown to become one of Scotland's largest construction firms.
