Hamilton-based company, Procast Group, has been appointed to multiple lots on a £120 million Scotland-wide decarbonisation framework, run by the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA). The firm was one of 42 contractors selected from hundreds of applicants for the highly contested framework.

Procast has been allocated 17 of the 23 lots on the SPA's Retrofit and Decarbonisation (N9) Framework. The work will involve providing retrofit solutions and energy upgrades to public sector buildings, helping Scotland move towards its net zero targets.

The framework, which is the largest ever for the SPA, covers all 140 Scottish local authorities, housing associations, and other public bodies, including schools and hospitals. Procast's work will include cladding, heating systems, solar PV, EV charging, and various types of insulation.

He added that the company wants to be at the forefront of the public sector's efforts to meet net zero targets.

The framework aims to not only accelerate Scotland's transition to net zero but also address the country's green skills shortage. Lesley Peaty, Regional Director at the SPA, said a portion of the income generated through the N9 Framework will be invested into organisations that are training the next generation of green-skilled workers.

Procast Group, which employs over 130 staff and has bases in Aberdeen and Dumfries, is a leading contractor in the retrofit and renewables sector across Scotland and the North of England.
