NLB Seeks Contractor For New Isle Of Mull Beacon

The Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) is looking for a supplier to install a new unlit beacon in the Loch Spelve sea loch on the southeast coast of the Isle of Mull.

The project requires a skilled contractor to manage the installation of the prefabricated structure, taking into account the tidal changes and location challenges.

The unlit beacon will be a 7.5m high stainless steel pole wrapped with a green GRP sleeve. A green top mark will be fitted to the structure to serve as a day mark for navigational purposes. The beacon will be connected to the seabed using 12 threaded stainless steel bolts, which will be anchored into bedrock with high-performance injectable adhesive mortar.
