Falkirk Council is asking residents to share their views on a new draft Spatial Vision and Town Centre Masterplan that sets out how Grangemouth could evolve over the next 20 years. The plan, which has been informed by extensive local engagement, looks at opportunities to improve housing, transport, and public spaces.
The draft includes proposals to enhance walking and cycling routes, support more mixed-use development, and improve the look and feel of key areas through landscaping. It is designed to act as a guide for future planning and investment and aligns with initiatives such as the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal and the Forth Green Freeport.
Councillor Paul Garner, spokesperson for Economic Development, said the plan is about "setting the longer-term direction" and making sure future improvements bring benefits to the area. He emphasised that community feedback has been crucial in shaping the draft and is "just as important now to help refine the final version."
Two local drop-in events will give people the chance to view the plans and speak to council officers and town planning specialists. The first event will be held at Kersiebank Community Centre on Tuesday, 26 August, from 3pm to 8pm, while the second will be at Grangemouth Library on Thursday, 28 August, from 3pm to 7.30pm.
