The Highland Council has announced plans to carry out essential road resurfacing works on Inshes Roundabout in Inverness.
The project is scheduled to begin on Sunday, 17 August 2025, and will extend over six consecutive nights, with work taking place between 7pm and 6am to reduce impact on traffic.
Efforts have been made to minimise disruption by timing the works after the main school holidays and towards the end of the peak tourist season in August.
The phased work schedule is as follows:
• Sunday, 17 August: Planing out existing road surface and adjusting ironwork levels.
• Monday, 18 August: Laying new roundabout surfacing in designated areas.
• Tuesday, 19 August: Laying new roundabout surfacing in another designated area.
• Wednesday, 20 August: Laying new surfacing to the approaches on Culloden Road/Old Perth Road.
• Thursday, 21 August: Planing out existing road surface and laying new surfacing on Sir Walter Scott Drive towards A9T, including ironwork adjustments.
• Friday, 22 August: Replacing road markings throughout the roundabout.
• Sunday, 24 August: A provisional date has been set in case of any delays to the works.
