SELECT Welcomes Prestigious National Award Nomination

SELECT, the trade association for the electrical contracting industry in Scotland, is celebrating a significant achievement in its 125th anniversary year.

Its commemorative timeline publication has been nominated for Publication of the Year at the highly regarded 2025 Association Excellence Awards, which recognise outstanding work by trade bodies across the UK.

Released in January to mark the association's 125 years of history, the 36-page brochure meticulously charts SELECT's journey from its formation in Glasgow in 1900 to the present day, highlighting key figures and milestones. The timeline, designed by Connect Communications, will now compete against eight other industry titles, with the winner scheduled to be announced at the QEII Centre in London on Friday, 7 November.

Iain Mason, Director of Membership, Events & Communications at SELECT, expressed his delight at the nomination: "We are absolutely thrilled that our timeline has been nominated for this national award. As we continue to celebrate 125 years of excellence, this recognition is a fitting tribute to the many people who have shaped the association and continue to help us empower electrical businesses across Scotland."

This nomination follows SELECT's previous success at the awards in October 2022, where it clinched the award for Best Membership Support Since COVID-19. The association's bi-monthly magazine, cabletalk, was also a finalist for Best Association Newsletter, Blog, Online or Physical Publication in both 2022 and 2023.
