Clark Contracts has successfully completed the design and build of a £30 million purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development on Mayfield Road in Edinburgh for Lanark Student Living.

The new facility, located directly opposite the University of Edinburgh's Kings Buildings campus, provides 257 student rooms across two five-storey buildings. The development includes a mix of studios and three-bedroom apartments, along with a range of modern amenities such as a gym, communal spaces, cinema, and laundry facilities.

Constructed using an innovative modular building technique, the accommodation was delivered in partnership with modular specialist DMD Modular. The apartments and studios were pre-fabricated off-site and then transported and assembled on location, significantly streamlining the construction process.

The project has already attracted industry recognition, earning a nomination for Student Accommodation of the Year at the 2025 Scottish Property Awards, as well as receiving an Honourable Mention at the International Modular Building Awards.

The project team included 56Three Architects, MDA Consulting, Meinhardt Group, and Etive Consulting Engineers.
