Four employees from Clark Contracts have successfully completed their BSc Honours degrees in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, marking a significant milestone in their professional development. Their achievements highlight the Scottish contractor's ongoing commitment to nurturing new talent within the construction industry.
Among the graduates is Liam, who joined Clark Contracts in 2022 as a Trainee Site Manager after completing an HND in Construction Management. While pursuing his BSc (Hons) in Construction Management, Liam has gained practical experience on various projects, notably the major refurbishment and extension of the former Galston Local Office for East Ayrshire Council.
Ben, another Trainee Site Manager, also graduated with a degree in Construction Management. Having joined the company in 2024, he balanced his studies with work on a substantial 280,000 sq ft industrial project for John Dewar and Sons. Drew, a Trainee Planner who joined Clark Contracts in early 2025, also earned his Construction Management Degree, contributing to the development of programmes for the pre-construction and construction teams throughout his studies.
Christian, the final graduate, completed his BSc in Quantity Surveying. He initially joined Clark Contracts in 2022 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, progressing from his HND in Quantity Surveying. Christian is currently involved in the contractor’s housing development on Butterbiggins Road, Glasgow, and the refurbishment of Bught Stadium in Inverness.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director at Clark Contracts, expressed immense pride in the graduates: “We’re incredibly proud to see four of our employees graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University this summer. Their achievements reflect the strength of our commitment to continuous development and professional growth. We’re excited to support them as they take the next steps in their careers alongside our other alumni. We’re also looking ahead to celebrating another group of graduates later this year, who are completing their studies through our graduate apprenticeship programme."
Clark Contracts maintains a strong dedication to staff training and development, investing over £750,000 annually. Since launching its award-winning Academy in 2006, the company has supported more than 350 trainees entering the industry, with an additional 40 employees currently pursuing formal qualifications.
