New Housing Development Planned For Ardrossan's Nursery Place

Construction News Image
Residents and interested stakeholders are encouraged to share their views on a new housing development proposed for Nursery Place in Ardrossan.

The plans outline the construction of six new homes, which will replace existing flatted blocks slated for demolition as part of North Ayrshire Council's extensive Estate-Based Regeneration Programme.

The project, expected to receive support from a Scottish Government grant, aims to deliver a mix of housing types, including two-bedroom general needs houses, an amenity bungalow, and a wheelchair-liveable bungalow. These modern, energy-efficient, and affordable homes are set to "regenerate and breathe new life into the area around Nursery Place," according to Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Member for Communities, Housing and Islands.

North Ayrshire Council is inviting the public to review the draft plans online until Tuesday, 8 July 2025.

Additionally, a dedicated consultation event will take place on Tuesday, 24 June, from 16:00 to 18:00 at Ardrossan Civic Centre. To book a place at this event, interested parties can email developmentandstrategy@north-ayrshire.gov.uk or telephone 01294 324031.

Councillor Hill commented: "North Ayrshire Council has one of the most ambitious house-building programmes in the country and this development will help us to provide more modern, energy efficient affordable homes to our tenants."

Work at Nursery Place is currently scheduled to commence in 2026 and is anticipated to take approximately one year to complete.
