Joshua Harvey, a third-year apprentice heating engineer with Arc-Tech (Scotland), has been awarded a prestigious college prize for his exceptional work.

The 20-year-old from Livingston, who joined the M&E services contractor in August 2022, has been supporting the business on various contracts across Scotland.

Harvey is currently undertaking his four-year, industry-recognised apprenticeship programme with Glasgow Kelvin College. The college has awarded him the Course Prize for SVQ3 Heating & Ventilating: Industrial & Commercial Installation – Year 3 for 2025. He is set to receive his award at the Glasgow Kelvin College Summer Awards Ceremony at the City Chambers on the 22nd of May.

Expressing his delight, Joshua Harvey said: “Since the start of my apprenticeship, I've worked hard every day, both on-site and in college, so to have won this prize makes me proud and has given me a big confidence boost as I enter my final year of my apprenticeship."

He added: "I'd like to thank everyone at Arc-Tech (Scotland) for welcoming me to the team and helping me develop my skills. I also want to thank my lecturers, friends and colleagues I've met along the way, who have made my apprenticeship a really enjoyable experience."

John Gallacher, Managing Director of Arc-Tech (Scotland), commented: “On behalf of the Board of Directors and our Senior Management teams, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Joshua on receiving this prize. It is a reward for his hard work and dedication, and very well deserved."

Gallacher highlighted the company's commitment to apprentice development: "This is the second consecutive year that one of our apprentices has been individually recognised. This is a testament to our senior staff who dedicate their time to help our apprentices flourish into highly skilled tradespeople, which helps to serve Arc-Tech (Scotland) as a business and the wider industry. I hope Joshua's success entices more young people to Building Services, and I look forward to keeping up with our apprentices as they enter a new academic year later in the summer."
