A pre-determination hearing is scheduled for April to discuss a planning application concerning the onshore transmission infrastructure for the Muir Mhor offshore wind farm.
The proposed infrastructure includes the creation of an onshore landfall point, the laying of underground cables, and the construction of a substation, along with associated works to connect to the Transmission Grid on land to the north, north-west, and west of Peterhead.
The hearing will take place at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 16, at Buchan House on St Peter Street, Peterhead, and will also be accessible via TEAMS.
These hearings are a formal part of the planning process, providing an opportunity for those who have already submitted valid representations, as well as the applicant and consultees, to voice their opinions to councillors before a decision is made.
While the hearing is not a public consultation event and no decision on the application will be made at this stage, the proceedings will be minuted, and all points raised will be presented to the Buchan area committee when they discuss the application at a later date.
A report incorporating local views will then be submitted to Aberdeenshire Council’s Infrastructure Services Committee for a final decision.
It is important to note that only individuals who have previously submitted valid representations on this planning application and have informed the Planning Service by the specified deadline of their wish to speak at the hearing will be permitted to address the councillors directly.
