AC Whyte has successfully completed a Design & Build project for The City of Edinburgh Council, delivering essential fabric repair works to 21 properties at 26–28 Harvesters Way and 69 Dumbeg Park.
The project focused on improving energy efficiency, achieving a target of 0.19W/m²K for the external envelope. This was accomplished through the installation of a new External Wall Insulation (EWI) system across all existing wall areas.
Key to the project's success was collaboration with manufacturers and a reliable supply chain, alongside the expertise of AC Whyte's EWI and roofing teams. Residents remained in their homes during the works, and careful planning ensured minimal disruption, even with additional kitchen and bathroom replacements.
The project, designed to support The City of Edinburgh Council's carbon emission reduction and fuel poverty objectives, included:
• Installation of new roofing, gutters, windows, and doors.
• EWI and rendering system installation.
• Electrical modernisation.
• Boiler replacements.
By meeting PAS 2030:2019 standards, the project ensures long-term sustainability and improved comfort for residents, reducing carbon emissions and providing warmer, more energy-efficient homes.
