BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential painting work on the Kessock Bridge from Monday, 17th February.

This £1.5 million investment will involve removing existing paint coatings from a section at the north end of the bridge and applying a new protective layer to the steelwork.

The work is expected to take 22 weeks, with crews working between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday. Some overnight work may be required in late March and April to facilitate the removal of old paint coatings.

While no delays or disruptions are expected for motorists using the A9, an increase in site-related traffic is expected in the North Kessock area.

"This painting work on Kessock Bridge will provide a protective coating over the structural steel, ensuring that the bridge continues to operate safely into the future," said Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative. "Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements."

Consultation has been undertaken with relevant stakeholders to minimise disruption and inform the local community about the project.
