Over 300 primary school pupils across Scotland have had a taste of the construction industry thanks to a festive competition hosted by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.
Pupils from P2 to P4 classes in Inverness, Aberdeen, Perth, St Andrews, East Lothian, and Glasgow were challenged to design a creative Christmas hard hat. The competition encouraged pupils to use their imagination and draw inspiration from their local area and personal traditions.
The winning designs from each school received a £50 Smyths voucher, while all participants were rewarded with a chocolate selection box.
Douglas McLeod, regional managing director for Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes Scotland, said: "We've been blown away by the calibre of designs submitted into this year's Christmas competition. In the past we have run Christmas card competitions to get school pupils involved, but we decided to try something that would not only push pupils' creativity at Christmastime, but also engage the next generation to start thinking about construction and if it's a path that may interest them in the future.
"A massive congratulations to all those who took part in the competition. It has once again been a joy to involve communities in activities that will build festive cheer, and hopefully we can inspire more budding builders to try their hand next year."
