North Ayrshire Council is continuing to invest in new housing developments across the region.
The council and its Registered Social Landlord partners are currently working on projects in Beith, Kilbirnie, Largs, Ardrossan, and Irvine. Cunninghame Housing Association has recently completed new homes in Stevenston.
The ambitious housebuilding programme, supported by Scottish Government funding, aims to improve the lives of residents and regenerate local communities.
So far, the council has delivered 897 new homes, with a further 746 in the pipeline. Additionally, the council is working to regenerate existing housing estates and provide specialist housing for older residents and those with additional needs.
The council has recently approved a new five-year Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) for 2025-2030, outlining its priorities for affordable housing investment over the next five years.
Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Member for Islands and Communities, said: "Despite the financial challenges we are all facing, we are continuing to invest in our council homes across North Ayrshire to ensure families can enjoy affordable, high quality and comfortable homes. Not only are we continuing to deliver new houses to help us achieve our target of more than 1,600 new homes but we are also committing to bring more former council homes back into council ownership through our buyback programme."
Eight new Council housing developments are currently under way which will deliver 248 new homes across North Ayrshire. This includes the Council's largest housing development to date at the site of the former maternity unit at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine, where 202 new homes will be built.
