SP Energy Networks has extended the public consultation period for its proposed Cross-Border Connection project until 23 December, 2024.
The decision to extend the deadline follows a series of public consultation events and engagement with local communities and Scottish Borders Council.
The project involves the construction of a new substation in Gala North and a 400kV overhead power line running south to the Scotland-England border.
SP Energy Networks encourages residents and businesses to review the project details and provide feedback through the online consultation portal or by attending upcoming events.
The company is working closely with National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) to coordinate the cross-border connection with NGET's proposed projects in England.
