East Lothian Council has announced that work is set to begin on Monday, 25 November, to upgrade the play area in Memorial Park, Gullane.
The new play equipment will cater to a range of ages and abilities, featuring a nest swing, sensory pathway, cable slides, and a gyro roundabout. The design of the play area is based on feedback from local children and young people.
Councillor Colin McGinn, Cabinet Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing and Sport, Countryside and Leisure, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating that the new facility will be well-used and appreciated by the community.
The upgrade is expected to be completed by spring 2025 and is funded by Section 75 developer contributions.
