Arc-Tech (Scotland) has commenced work on a new care home in Perth, transforming the site of the former Hillside Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility.
The development, led by Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco, a joint venture between Morrison Community Care Group and CCG (Scotland), will provide high-quality residential, nursing, and dementia care services for individuals over the age of 65.
Arc-Tech, a long-standing partner of both companies, is responsible for the installation of a range of essential services, including mechanical systems (air conditioning, ventilation, fire suppression, and CHP), electrical systems (lighting, data, communication, fire, and security), and public health services (sanitary ware and drainage).
With multiple projects underway, Arc-Tech is demonstrating its commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for the healthcare sector.
Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director, John Gallacher, said: "Scotland’s population is continuing to age at pace, so it is important we continue to meet the needs of the elderly by creating new, modern facilities that are equipped to serve this growing demand within the care sector.
"Dundee Road will be another great example of the work of Morrison Community Care and CCG, a partnership that we have proudly supported for the better half of a decade with 6 developments (over 300 beds) across the country and project pipeline into 2026 that will utilise the breadth of our in-house M&E expertise.
"I look forward to watching how work at Dundee Road progresses over the coming months."
Dundee Road will offer each resident a private en-suite bedroom as well as access to a range of integrated amenities such as dining rooms served by professionally trained chefs, a hair salon, a visitor’s café and cinema as well as private gardens.
Paul Sokhi, Morrison Community Care Group Managing Director, added: "I am delighted with the progress being made on-site, and I commend partners like Arc-Tech, as well as CCG (Scotland) and our design team of Holmes Miller, Design Me, Design Consult, and CRGP Surveyors for their efforts in bringing this challenging site to life.
"The care home will be a much-valued asset to the local and wider Perth community upon its completion next year. The availability of care homes in Scotland has decreased by 19% since 2013 whilst our ageing population continues to grow.
"It is therefore imperative that we support our elderly community and alleviate pressure on our NHS with developments such as Dundee Road where a best-in-class environment will be created for residents, family members and staff alike."
