West Lothian Council has approved the sale of the former Bubbles site to Cruden Homes Limited (CHL). The developer plans to build up to 122 new apartments on the site of the former Xcite Livingston leisure pool.
The sale, which could potentially generate up to £3.1 million, will see the funds reinvested into essential council services, such as improving the local school estate.
CHL, a reputable developer with experience in similar residential projects, intends to develop a four-storey apartment building on the site. While planning permission is still required, the town centre location is considered suitable for high-density developments.
To preserve the public artwork 'Symbiosis', the council will relocate it to Almondvale Park during the current financial year.
