Motorists are advised of upcoming overnight closures on the M90 at Junction 2, Masterton, and the eastbound A823(M) from Monday, 11th November to Friday, 15th November. The closures will be in effect from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM each night.
During the closures, both lanes of the M90 southbound and one lane of the M90 northbound will be closed at Junction 2. Additionally, the A823(M) eastbound from Pitreavie Roundabout will be closed.
These closures are necessary to allow Transport Scotland's operating company, BEAR Scotland, to carry out urgent joint replacement works on a bridge carrying the M90 motorway over a slip road.
Motorists wishing to continue on the M90 southbound will be directed to follow a diversion route via the A823(M), the B980, and the A985 Admiralty Road, rejoining the M90 southbound at Junction 1C Admiralty.
Traffic travelling from Queensferry Road in Dunfermline intending to join the M90 will also be directed to follow the same diversion route to M90 Junction 1C.
Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel during the closure periods.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: "It is critical that we replace expansion joints on this structure to ensure the continued safety of motorway users.
"We thank motorists in advance for their understanding and recommend that they check the latest travel updates from Traffic Scotland, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for their journey if required."
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to make them aware of these works in advance.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
