Overnight resurfacing works will take place on the A87 north of Broadford on Friday, November 1 at 7pm until 7am on Saturday, November 2.

Improvements to road markings and existing defects will be made by BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, to make the road safer for users as well as more durable and resilient against inclement weather.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: "These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users as well as upgrading road markings to enhance road safety. We thank locals and road users for their patience ahead of these road improvements."

Due to restricted road widths through this section of the A87, the carriageway will be closed in both directions for the protection of everyone.

Amnesties will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am, while access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.

A 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
