A commemorative golden shovel event, hosted by CHAP Group, marked the commencement of construction of the £26m Craighill Housing project in Kincorth, Aberdeen.
The project will create 87 modern and energy-efficient homes as part of Aberdeen City Council's initiative to enhance local affordable housing and community development.
The event was attended by representative for Aberdeen City Council, Councillor Miranda Radley and CHAP’s site team.
"We are excited to reach this important milestone in the Craighill project," said Malcolm Thomson, Operations Manager at CHAP Group.
"Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality homes that will not only provide somewhere to live but also foster community spirit and sustainability."
Communities, Housing and Public Protection Committee Convener Councillor Miranda Radley said: "I am delighted that work will shortly begin on providing new homes at Craighill. Aberdeen City Council are committed to providing high quality homes for our tenants across the city and I look forward to seeing how the site progresses."
The homes will be built to the Gold Standard for Sustainability and the project is anticipated to be completed by April 2026.
