The Highland Council is set to begin improvement works at key locations in Fort William, including Monzie Square, the junction with Middle Street, Fraser Square to High Street, and An Aird Roundabout.
Scheduled to start on Monday, October 14, 2024, the project aims to enhance accessibility and will involve resurfacing footways, creating new drop kerbs and installing tactile paving. The works are expected to take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
George Gordon Construction has been appointed as the contractor for the project. The construction team, in collaboration with the Council, will implement measures to minimize disruption for both road users and pedestrians. Traffic management will be enforced as necessary, and any temporary access restrictions will be communicated in advance to local businesses and residents.
