CITB And Build UK Announce Open Doors 25

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Build UK have announced the 2025 Open Door industry event will take place from Monday 17 – Saturday 22 March next year, calling on organisations across the supply chain to register the events they are planning to offer.

The construction industry needs to recruit 50,000 new entrants a year and Open Doors provides a unique opportunity for young people and those looking for a change of career to go behind the scenes and see just what the industry has to offer.

Build UK is working with its network of Open Doors Partners to promote events to as many potential visitors as possible, and recently hosted two webinars for careers advisers across the UK, with the support of the Department for Work & Pensions, The Careers & Enterprise Company, Careers Wales and Skills Development Scotland.

Schools and colleges usually require significant notice to organise visits, which is why sites should register as soon as possible. Build UK members can register events free of charge and there is an early‐bird discount available to non‐members until 30 November. Schools and colleges may contact sites directly to register their interest in events, before booking opens in January, a Visit Brief  and Risk Assessment template are available in case help is required to secure the relevant permissions.

Everyone can play a part in inspiring careers in construction by opening sites, offices, manufacturing facilities and training centres across the UK, as a Partner to Open Doors CITB has already registered National Construction College Norfolk to take part.

Bookings for visitors open on Monday 13 January 2025.
