The East Lothian Planning Committee has approved plans for a skate park, pump track, basketball court, café, and changing room building in Hallhill, Dunbar.

The project, to be managed by the Dunbar Community Development and Heritage Trust (DCDHT), will provide much-needed recreational facilities for the local community. The café and toilet facilities are expected to be open daily from 10am to 10pm.

The planning committee received 76 representations, with 55 objections and 20 in support. Concerns raised included potential anti-social behaviour and impact on wildlife. However, supporters emphasised the lack of recreational facilities for children in Dunbar and the positive impact the project would have on the community.

• St Andrew's House: A planning application to build a three-story house was unanimously refused.

• Battery Energy Storage System: An application for the installation of a battery energy storage system was approved.

• Solar Panels at Staggs Bar: Permission was granted for the installation of solar panels on the roof of the listed building.
