Morrison Community Care Group and contractor, CCG (Scotland), have announced the successful completion of major new care development in Livingston.
The development in Almondside, south of the busy town centre, is the latest from joint venture partnership, Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco.
The firms have been working together since 2017 and on a joint venture basis since 2021, with the aim of transforming brownfield sites across the country into high-quality care homes.
Morrison Community Care Group Managing Director, Paul Sokhi said: "Morrison Community Care Group has been involved in the Scottish care sector since the late 1980s. We began life as an operator before recently transitioning to the development space with a market reach now extending across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
"We are a company that takes great care to understand the needs of the elderly community on a local level, with an ageing population across the UK and Ireland, there is a recognised pressure on our health services, particularly the NHS, so more must be done to help those who need it most.
"Sites like Almond Valley typify our approach to development; on first glance, the site perhaps didn't look capable of delivering a care home, but now this wonderful facility will contribute greatly to the localised demand for care services and create 100 jobs.
"After a year of construction, I am delighted with the outcome and I extend my thanks to our excellent partners including our own development team, our design team and construction partner, CCG, for realising our vision."
Construction of the facility was undertaken by CCG (Scotland), one of the country's largest, privately-owned construction groups, with support from Holmes Miller Architects, Design Me, Cowal Design, and CRGP Surveyors.
CCG Managing Director, David Wylie added: "The completion of Almond Valley is another fantastic milestone in our partnership with Morrison Community Care. With over 300 bed spaces created across Scotland since 2017, we are facing the challenges of the care sector head-on, unlocking land, and using advanced construction methods, to deliver warm, welcoming facilities to a leading quality standard.
"With care homes on-site in Glasgow, Penicuik, Perth, and a further one in Linlithgow set to be underway by the end of this year, our commitment is unwavering. We thank all of our project partners for their support during the construction programme and extend our very best wishes to future residents."
