SNIPEF and the Skills Development Scotland (SDS) has published its latest stakeholder survey, marking the start of the second phase of a comprehensive review of the Scottish Plumbing and Heating Apprenticeship.
This survey invites employer feedback on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) to ensure they continue to be technically robust and responsive to the dynamic landscape of the plumbing and heating profession. These changes are crucial to meet customer demands and help the profession contribute to achieving national Net Zero targets.
Started in November 2023 in response to employer input about the changing needs of the profession, this review has actively involved SNIPEF members in refining the apprenticeship content and in recruiting volunteers for the employer Technical Expert Group. These volunteers have been instrumental in ensuring the apprenticeship aligns with current industry requirements.
The review's success hinges on the insights from its stakeholders. Employer perspectives are invaluable to this process and will be treated confidentially. We encourage your participation in this pivotal research to ensure the redesigned apprenticeship thoroughly meets the profession's evolving needs.
