Persimmon East Scotland has handed over 45 new homes in Musselburgh.

The properties form part of Persimmon's Burgh Gate development at Craighall North and have now been transferred to East Lothian Council, who will manage the mixture of one to four bedroom homes.

An earlier phase of 34 homes was handed over to the council in July 2022. This final phase of new council homes features a mix of one and two bedroom cottage flats with level access showers; two bedroom mid-terraced houses, three bedroom end-terraced houses, three bedroom wheelchair-accessible bungalows and four bedroom semi-detached houses.

Councillor Andy Forrest, East Lothian Council Spokesperson for Housing and Property Maintenance, said: "These new council homes will make a real difference to many tenants, who are either on the waiting list for a home or are waiting for a more suitable property. I'm particularly pleased that this development has a good mix of sizes of properties along with a number of wheelchair-accessible flats and bungalows. The demand for affordable housing in East Lothian continues to grow so more properties coming into council ownership is very good news."
