Knight Property Group has completed the third phase of its £20 million development in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.
The company has also agreed a multi-year deal with leading engineering services and asset management specialist, Briggs Equipment.
The new industrial warehouse at Langlands Commercial Park features a 26,592 sq ft warehouse, with a 1,993 sq ft office space. It includes a large secure concrete yard with 24 parking spaces and 4 EV car charging points.
Constructed by Clark Contracts, the main contractor, this warehouse is built to a high specification with a steel portal frame and high-performance cladding. It meets high environmental standards, achieving an EPC 'A' rating and BREEAM "Very Good" standard.
Briggs Equipment UK, part of Sammons Industrial, is the UK & Ireland's largest distributor of Hyster and Yale forklift trucks. Briggs also has strategic partnerships with other leading manufacturers of materials handling and industrial equipment. Its parent company, Sammons Enterprises Inc, is one of the largest privately held companies in the US.
The Briggs Equipment national service centre is based in Cannock, Staffordshire, with six regional centres across the UK and Ireland, including Cumbernauld. The new base in East Kilbride provides additional capacity to service the Scottish market.
Pete Jones, Briggs Equipment's Group Managing Director, said: "Over recent years, we have worked hard to build our presence within Scotland's materials handling sector. The new centre in East Kilbride is another significant milestone for our group, bringing our products and services to a wider customer base in Scotland.
"This expansion demonstrates our commitment to meeting the growing demand for high-quality materials handling equipment and services in the region. We are excited about the opportunities this new location will bring and look forward to strengthening our relationships with our Scottish customers."
Howard Crawshaw, Managing Director of Knight Property Group, said: "The successful completion of this project brings positive news and we are thrilled to welcome Briggs Equipment to Langlands. This pre-let marks an exciting chapter for both our property and the Briggs’ operations. Our state-of-the-art facility, built to the highest specifications and environmental standards, offers the ideal space for growth and efficiency. We look forward to a successful and long-lasting partnership with Briggs."
Langlands Commercial Park is located within the well-established Kelvin South and Langlands industrial areas of East Kilbride, adjacent to Sainsbury’s logistics facility. The site is prominently situated with excellent frontage to the A726 Strathaven Road, and has excellent connectivity to Scotland’s main motorway network, serving central Scotland and beyond.
This is the third phase of speculative development at Langlands by Knight, with this new building lying adjacent to phase 1, a ten-unit trade counter facility, which is fully let and phase 4, a 24,015 sq ft industrial unit, which was sold to Corney and Barrow last year.
