Network Rail has announced a programme of bridge renewal works off Gateside Road in Barrhead.
Engineers will work to remove the existing structure, install a new bridge and subsequently re-lay track. Network Rail has said that the work was vital for the long-term reliability of the railway.
A footpath under the rail bridge and one lane of the road have been closed since early June and will remain closed until Monday 29 July.
Susan Menmuir, Scheme Project Manager for Scotland’s Railway, said: "We understand the inconvenience this work will cause to our passengers and road users, and we are working hard to replace the bridge as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum."
