Committee convener Councillor Steven Rome explained: "It is important that the council maintains its building stock through this multi-million pound programme.

"As part of our commitment to community wealth building, we try to ensure that as much of the work goes to local firms as possible.

"This programme is also enhancing major attractions in our city like the Caird Hall and Dundee Contemporary Arts which play such an important part in our cultural sector."

The committee meets on Monday April 22.
