Bancon Homes has announced that it will develop a further 51 new homes in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, following the successful acquisition of land in the historic town.
Located off Glassford Road, the key acquisition will complete the approved East Overton masterplan.
This most recent purchase by Bancon Homes will deliver phase four of the site comprising 51 three, four and five bedroom detached homes. It will follow on from Queens Gate, their current phase of 54 new homes which has seen exceptional demand and is now over 50% sold.
As part of their commitment to the local community the Aberdeen based luxury house builder will make contributions to South Lanarkshire Council of £51,000 towards the Strathaven Heritage Fund and Commuted Sums towards affordable housing provision in the local area in excess of £400,000. In addition they will also deliver an outdoor community space, including equipped play and informal, recreational space, for the enjoyment of all local residents. Footpaths will be established through the woodland which is close to the development site and a footway and cycle path will be created to link through to Hamilton Road.
Commenting on the announcement, Craig Fotheringham, Bancon Homes Land and Development Director said: "We are pleased to have secured this final area of land to complete the East Overton masterplan. Demand has been high for our quality homes at Queens Gate and we are confident of continuing this success into the final phase. We are also very proud to be delivering the highly-anticipated recreational outdoor space for the benefit of the whole local community."
