Moray Council has launched a new Trusted Trader scheme which will allow residents to choose a tradesperson with confidence.
An increasing number of businesses are enrolling in the program, including home decorating firms, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and a company specialising in carpet and upholstery cleaning.
The Trusted Trader initiative only accepts businesses dedicated to ethical and lawful practices. Each trader is checked and approved by Moray Council's Trading Standards team and the scheme is backed by Police Scotland.
Cllr Marc Macrae, chair of Moray Council’s Economic Development and Infrastructure Services Committee, said: "The Trusted Trader scheme gives Moray residents confidence to find a reliable trader in Moray, and I’m delighted we have this in place to help protect our resident from rogue traders. I'd encourage householders to use the scheme when looking to have work done and for local businesses to join before our current half price sign-up offer runs out."
A list of trusted traders can be found on Moray Council's website. For traders interested in joining the scheme, the process takes around 10 minutes to complete.
