Springfield Properties Progressing Redevelopment Of Deans South

West Lothian Council has welcomed the progress being made by Springfield Properties in the redevelopment of Deans South.

Springfield purchased the land from the council in April 2021, proposing the delivery of 136 new homes, 127 of which would be affordable housing.

While construction work is well underway, the project cannot be complete until the remaining nine privately owned properties within Deans South are purchased by Springfield Properties.

Springfield Properties have an agreement to purchase all nine properties but the formal contracts still need to be concluded. Demolition of the private homes will commence once all legal proceedings have been concluded to transfer ownership to SPP and the residents of the privately owned properties are relocated to the next homes. It is Springfield Properties intention to complete construction of the replacement homes in April 2024.

Springfield are working to purchase all nine remaining private homes in exchange for providing a new home within the regeneration area.

Last year, 29 new council homes were delivered as part of the regeneration of the wider Deans South area. These news homes being a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows. Tenants moved in last year.
