Arc-Tech (Scotland) has begun work on a turnkey Mechanical & Electrical Services package at a new care home facility in Almondside in Livingston.
Arc-Tech is carrying out the installation on behalf of the Main Contractor and co-client, CCG (Scotland), and Morrison Community Care Group.
Morrison Community Care is one of the UK's leading care developers. The company joined forces with CCG in 2021 setting up an innovative joint venture (Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco Ltd – to create modern accommodation for the elderly across the breadth of the country.
The new care home is one of two currently on-site and forms part of a pipeline of projects that includes a further three developments that will commence within the next year, all of which will be supported by Arc-Tech's team of experts.
Each care home provides luxury accommodation for elderly people over the age of sixty-five and offers private en-suite rooms and a wealth of integrated amenities as well as 24/7 nursing and dementia care services.
Designed by Holmes Miller, the care homes are also specially-designed with virus control measures in order to mitigate the impact of any future pandemics.
Construction formally commenced on the Almondside care home in 2023 and it is set to open its doors later this year.
Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director John Gallacher, said: "We are delighted to be on-site at Almondside. Arc-Tech have been working behalf of Morrison Community Care since our company's inception and we have since helped support the delivery of five developments, comprising over 250 much-needed bed spaces for the elderly, across the breadth of the country.
"Addressing Scotland's growing ageing population is a societal necessity and this care home will be a valuable addition to Livingston and the wider region of West Lothian.
"I look forward to seeing how works progress over the coming months."
Morison Community Care Managing Director, Paul Sokhi, said: "As one of the UK's leading care providers and developers, we are delighted to see construction works are now underway at Almondside. Morrison Community Care is passionate about providing the very highest standard of living and service possible and I am sure the development will be a welcome addition to Livingston. It will not only provide valuable support for the local elderly population but for the wider town as this project will deliver over 100 jobs that will be accessible to the community.
"With many patients currently estimated to be in NHS beds in Scotland that don't require to be, our innovative joint venture with CCG, in partnership with our architectural partners Holmes Miller, will help transform communities across Scotland and we are excited to be bringing our market-leading product to Livingston. While Morrison Community Care starts its expansion into England this year, we are delighted to continue to bring much-needed care beds throughout Scotland."
